Induction motors

An asynchronous motor operates with slip: the rotor runs below the speed of the rotating magnetic field.

Permanent-magnet motors

A synchronous motor’s rotor follows the rotating magnetic field. Motor selection and control requirements depend on the application.

Questions about your motor?

What should I send for motor selection?

Include the required power, speed, supply voltage and frequency, duty cycle, mounting arrangement and quantity. A drawing or photograph of the existing nameplate is useful.

Can I specify a motor for washdown?

Describe the cleaning pressure, temperature and chemicals. Ask us to confirm the protection rating, seal materials and cleaning limits for the complete selected configuration.

Which frame sizes and power ratings are available?

Availability varies by motor family and configuration. Send the required frame size and rating so we can check the current model-specific documentation.

Are brakes and encoders available?

These are configuration options within the range. Specify the required brake supply or encoder feedback and confirm availability for the selected motor.

Can I replace an existing motor?

Send its nameplate, shaft and flange dimensions, mounting orientation and application details. A similar appearance alone does not establish interchangeability.
